Oyo Hotel Kalama, Kalama

Arriving at the hotel, I found a convenient location right near a nice restaurant and in a small, quiet setting in Kalama WA. The Columbia River Restaurant next door was a standout with their delicious soup and stew along with amazing homemade apple pie. However, the room had a strong smoke odor when I checked in, indicating a checkered past, but the service, while not the most empathetic, did bring items to the room when requested.

My stay at the hotel was a bit of a mixed bag. The rooms were cleaner than expected, but there were some issues like a strong urine smell, chewed-off furniture, and hair around the sink. The bed felt as hard as a rock, and the traffic noise was bothersome. The service was a letdown with a refusal to help check-in, a very tough bed, and mold in the bathroom. The location was convenient near the interstate, though the surroundings were unkempt. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn't offer much besides old coffee and pastries. Overall, there were some positives but also significant drawbacks to consider.

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was great, with easy access to the Columbia River and nature trails, but some aspects of the room and service were disappointing. The dining experience was lacking, but the hotel facilities were satisfactory.
